How Does the MonaLisa Touch Work?

Created in Italy by Cynosure, the MonaLisa Touch uses fractional CO2 laser energy directly stimulating the vaginal areas. By gently acting on the inner walls of the vagina, called the endometrium — the creation of micro-lesions triggers a process called necollagenesis, stimulating the production of a hormone called collagen. Collagen plays a crucial role in the enhanced release of mucus, involved in natural lubrication. Triggering the tissue regeneration process lasts for several weeks, with initial improvements seen immediately after the first treatment. Vaginal discomfort is an extremely uncomfortable experience, mainly caused by a lack of lubrication. Following MonaLisa treatments, the mucosa tissue becomes more nourished and hydrated.
